Project Engineer - Concrete Construction

Due to recent growth and expansion, we seek an experienced Project Engineer to join our team based in Adelaide. The role has broad responsibilities including on-site project management assistance, contract administration, resource management and business development.

Reporting to the Project Manager, key responsibilities for this role include:

  • To work closely with the Project Team in order to ensure compliance with Client and Ballestrin’s processes
  • Assist with the preparation and population of Quality Assurance documentation
  • Undertake appropriate investigations, inspections, and methodology development
  • Undertake quantity take-offs, procurement schedules and suppliers communications
  • Assist with cost management including preparation of progress claims, variations and project budget control
  • Assist with construction program development and tracking project progress
  • Effective communication and building positive relationships with clients, project team and management
  • Problem solving and innovation as an individual and as part of a team
  • Ability to work away as required
  • A team player with demonstrated superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to cope with urgency, efficiently assign work priorities and work in a high pressure environment

Skills and experience

  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years Post Graduate experience
  • To be successful in this role, it is essential you have proficient abilities in Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Project, and strong organisational / planning, verbal and written communication skills.
  • It would be beneficial to have proficiency in Primaerva P6, Benchmark (or other estimating software), AutoCad / Revit (or similar)
  • Must be able to comply with pre-employment medical and police check

Project Manager - Concrete Construction

Due to recent growth and expansion, we seek an experienced Project Manager to join our team based in Adelaide. The role has broad responsibilities including on-site project management, contract administration, estimating, resource management and business development.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Lead and direct projects including planning, organising, reporting and overseeing of all aspects of project delivery including but not limited to safety, financial and quality results;
  • Strong focus on safe work culture and processes
  • Complying with company management system and client expectations
  • Ensure project is meeting program and correctly resourced;
  • Financial management including cost control, cashflow, project reporting and procurement;
  • Management of contract terms and conditions for project;
  • Coordinate appropriate investigations, inspections, engineering analysis;
  • Develop, maintain and foster successful relationships with current clients to facilitate ongoing work;Involvement in tender and bid preparation including estimating

Skills and experience essential for being a successful candidate for this role include:

  • Previous experience as a Project Manager or a Project Engineer ready to take the “next step”;
  • Proven experience in cost, program and contract management
  • High level drive and ability to manage time and tasks for multiple simultaneous projects;
  • Effective communication and the ability to build positive relationships with Clients, Project Team and Management;
  • Problem solver with a proactive attitude and a ‘lead by example’ motivator;
  • Ability to work in regional South Australia and interstate when required;
